That's as it may be.  However, for the record, I for one specifically
discourage newcomers to Linux from adopting Debian
(http://linuxmafia.com/~rick/faq/index.php?page=kicking#distro),
certainly would not make the vague and meaningless assertion that it's
"best", and am quite fond of (among other distros) Gentoo.

Has someone on Sluglug recently claimed his/her distribution is "best", 
by the way?  I hadn't noticed same.
