Why not?  I don't remember reading anything when I signed up that said this 
list was ONLY going to be used for certain topics.  It's a group of people 
who are interested in Linux, and by extention IT, who happen to be in the 
Santa Curz area.  After dozens of emails between Rick and Phil about nothing 
relevant to anything, I never saw a single "this is innappropriate subject 
matter" from list managers....  former or current.  But when someone asks a 
question trying to help someone else out in the area of IT, the hounds get 
called?

Flaiming is appropriate, but market research isn't?  Seriously?!  I hope 
people respond to Thomas off list, because I don't really care to read about 
what other's think on this issue...  but I sure don't mind being asked.
