[SlugLUG] Help Me Choose: Part 2

So I installed Debian last night using the etch beta 3 installer.  I
had to pass something fun to the boot parameter in order for the
installer to recognize my cdrom drive...and then I was off.

After it finished its base install, i swapped testing for unstable in
sources.list and then did an apt-get dist-upgrade.  After that I was
done I wanted to play around in X so I tried to install xserver-xorg.
This is when things went funny.

During the "configuring" of the installation process I get this very
nice looking error about how something cannot be a null value.  This is
placed with an OK button that when pushed simply brings the same screen
back.  I got a little frustrated and checked google but found very
little help that I could understand.  

Is anyone possibly familiar with this problem or knows what I should be
doing?
