My first suggestion is the same as I've said before....  did you keep the 
testing and stable repositories in your /etc/apt/sources.list file?  I 
suggest adding those lines back in, doing the 'apt-get update' 'apt-get 
dist-upgrade' thing and see what happens.

If that does nothing, it would be great if you could provide a bit more text 
from the error message.  dpkg is usually very good about error messages once 
you learn how to read them :)
