Java stuff is in the multiverse repository. You probably want to enable
all of the repositories, so here's how. Go to system->administration->
software sources. You'll have to enter your password. Then under the
Ubuntu software tab, make sure main, universe, restricted, and
multiverse are enabled. Save the changes, and under a terminal:

sudo apt-get update
